*About Counting Design Colors and A Few Examples
First of all, when in doubt contact us and we'll be happy to help.
Each color in each location of a project needs its own screen as part of the printing process. Many designs (especially anything on dark shirts) also often need an additional base layer of white ink for the rest of the colors to show properly.
EXAMPLE 1:
Scenario: A band wants a black and red logo on a white shirt.
Solution: This is a simple Two Color job.
EXAMPLE 2:
Scenario: A school group wants a design using 2 shades of blue, some red, and a black outline on the front and a list of sponsors in black on the back of a white shirt.
Solution: This is counted as Five Colors
EXAMPLE 3:
Scenario: A church wants dark blue shirts for their youth group featuring a bright green and yellow design.
Solution: This is most likely a Three Color print. Two for the design colors and a white underbase to make the top colors *POP* like they're meant to.
EXAMPLE 4:
Scenario: A tatoo artist needs promotional shirts featuring full color logos and examples of their artwork on the front, back, and sleeves.
Solution: They have a very interesting project and need to contact us to for a custom quote.
